Managing ESXI Host with vsphere web client

After installing your ESXI Hypervisor, you can access your ESXI Host from vsphere client. You can access ESXI Host from vsphere client software till esxi version 6.0 but now you can use only vsphere web client  to access your server if your esxi version is above 6.0.


Type your esxi host ip address in the web browser directly as shown in figure.

Type username and password that you created previous esxi installation.
username - root
password - ****
After that you will see this kind of welcome screen.

In this screen you can see ESXI Host's CPU Status, Memory Status, Storage Status and Networking Status.

ESXi 6.7 Installation Step by Step

The following show how to Install ESXi 6.7 Step by Step.

1. Download the ESXi 6.7 ISO and make a bootable CD/DVD. ...
2. Press Enter to continue.
3. Press F11 to accept the license agreement and continue.
4. Select the disk on which you want to install ESXi 6.7. ...
5. Select the Keyboard layout and press Enter to continue.
6. Set the root password. ...
7. Press F11 to start the Installation

1. Insert your installation media and boot for this.

2. Press Enter to Continue...

4. Enter "continue".

5. Press "F11"

6. Wait a second...

7. Choose your datastore and press "enter" to continue.

8. Select "Keyboard Layout".

9. Set passwod.

10. Press F11 to install.

11. Begin to install.

12. Remove you installation media like USB stick or CD/DVD from your server.

13. After rebooting the server, you can manage and use your esxi host.

Esxi 6.7 Installation and configuration

If you want to install vsphere esxi 6.7 hypervisor on your server, you must meet the following minimum requirement.
I don't want to describe details about this requirement in this post and you can browse and suffer this from vmware official blog (https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/rn/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-67-release-notes.html#whatsnew).

In this whole learning journey, I will use the following devices to teach this all lessons.

1. Asus i5-6400 CPU@2.7GHZ , RAM - 32GB , 2NICs (two for esxi01 and esxi02)
2. HPE FlexNetwork 5130 48G 4SFP+ EI Switch (For Vlan setup)
3. Cisco 819 Router (For Vmware different port group vlan routing)
4. Storage (Openfiler Storage)

In this lesson, I will use the following the following network VLAN:
Management vlan : 192.168.200.0/24
UAT vlan : 192.168.201.0/24
PROD vlan : 192.168.203.0/24
