Microsoft Hyper-V

Microsoft Hyper-V

Microsoft Hyper-v is a kind of virtualization technology. Before explaining hyper-v, I want to tell about virtualization technology. Kinds of virtualization (Hosted and Bare Metal): Hosted means you can firstly install Operation System (OS) and later you can install guest operating system (virtual machines) into it. But the resources (Memory, CPUs and others) are shared by this host operating system.

Bare Metal is a kind of virtualization based on hypervisor. It means you can install hypervisor directly and then install the virtual machine onto it. Virtual Machines can be directly consumed the system’s resources.

Microsoft Hyper-V
Hyper-V is virtualization software. It can not only virtualize operating systems but also entire hardware components, such as hard drives and network switches. Unlike Fusion and Virtualbox, Hyper-V is not limited to the user’s device. You can use it for server virtualization, too.

Hyper-V can be used in the following OS.

1.      Hyper-V for Windows Servers
2.      Hyper-V Servers
3.      Hyper-V on Windows 10
